who we are
World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization working to create lasting change in the lives of children, families and communities in poverty. Through our partnership with local communities, the government and other stakeholders, we seek to develop the capacity of the poor to improve their lives through sustainable development. World Vision serves all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender.
what we do
Since 1991, World Vision has been facilitating community development initiatives throughout the remote regions of Luang Prabang Province. This is to ensure sustainable livelihoods for poor communities and especially children by focusing on activities that promote mother and child health, food security, education, income generation and access to water and sanitation.
World Vision is committed to securing a hopeful future for children and their families in the more isolated and poorer areas of Luang Prabang. Community resilience is strengthened through increased awareness on issues such as HIV and AIDS prevention and disaster mitigation. At the same time, we work together with communities to use resources in an environmentally friendly manner so that the natural beauty villagers live in will be preserved for generations to come.
