who we are

We established our restaurant 10 years ago to share with people our unique Lao cuisine. We specialise in offering authentic Luang Prabang-style cuisine. Many of our recipes are handed down from mother to daughter over numerous generations.

A few years ago, after many requests, we opened the cooking school. Here you can learn how to select, blend and cook our wonderfully exotic Laos flavours and take your newfound skills home.

what we do

Three years ago we became involved with the Luang Prabang Government Orphanage School with an initial idea of contributing mainly on the purchase of exercise books and stationary.

However, it soon became obvious that a lot more input was required so the nearly 400 children at the orphanage could grow to be healthy and well-educated.  As a result, we opened the ‘One for One plus USD1 for the Orphanage' Book Exchange to raise more money and further help meet the needs of the children for food, clothes, medicines and school supplies.

Our latest project is to help the children produce greeting cards, which are sold in the restaurant, cooking school and book exchange for $1 per card - 50 cents goes to the child and 50 cents to the orphanage.

We have also set up a website (http://www.lao-kids.org/) to increase people's awareness of the children's plight and provide updates. Through the website, donations can be made online via Paypal and donors contributing $20 or more receives a thank you certificate from the orphanage Director.
