who we are

Hoi An Center for Street Children

A place for comfort and moral support

Hoi An Center for Street Children is a non-government organisation (NGO) that provides food and shelter for orphaned, abandoned and disadvantaged children in the Quang Nam area. Established in 1992, the Center is a place for comfort and moral support to these children.

what we do

We send the children to school for formal education and they can live at the Center until they turn 18, after which they are sent to the university, vocational training schools or local firms as apprentices.

Since its inception, there have been over 100 children from the Center who have found jobs and are now leading independent lives. At present, we have 34 children and a group of Australian volunteers who are helping the children improve their English.

Our current sponsor is TAEM VN, a US-based NGO who provides financial support for the children at VND250,000 (US$15) per child per month.

The money is used to cover all living expenses and tuition costs. We are hoping to raise funds to upgrade the Center's buildings and increase our capacity to take in more children in need of a shelter.
