who we are
Fair Trek, a joint project between Luang Prabang Provincial Tourism Office, seven rural villages, SNV and Tiger Trail Outdoor Adventures, is designed to build community involvement and the philosophies of fair play and sustainable tourism into the tourism industry in Luang Prabang.
what we do
Fair Trek is based on sustainable and community-based tourism principles. This means local people directly benefit from your tour and by participating you will be contributing to the village and forest funds and much-needed income as well as employment opportunities to rural villagers. Local authorities and NGOs ensure the quality of the trip as well as monitor the impacts on the local communities. On average approximately 30% of your tour fee (based on a two-day trek) will go directly to the area you visit. Payment includes village fund payments, wages for local guides, purchasing food directly from local farmers and entry fees to local sites. These are all part of creating local employment and income generating activities at the village level.
