Angkor Hospital for Children

who we are

Angkor Hospital for Children

Every child has the right to a healthy life

Angkor Hospital for Children (AHC) is dedicated to improving the health and ensuring the future of Cambodia's children by providing full-service, life saving paediatric care free-of-charge. The dedicated staff of Cambodian doctors and nurses provides services for 300 to 500 babies and children per day and the hospital handles over 100,000 visits per year.

The hospital was founded in 1999 by the internationally acclaimed Japanese photographer Kenro Izu. He created the organization Friends Without A Border (www.fwab.org), a not-for-profit organization headquartered in New York, to fund and support Angkor Hospital for Children. AHC is funded entirely by grants and donations from supporters around the world.

what we do

Hospital services, continuing education for health care professionals and public health education are critically needed in Cambodia. In addition to providing paediatric care including outpatient and inpatient medical care, a 24-hour emergency room, surgical and dental programs, our Medical Education Centre has been designated by the Cambodian Ministry of Health as an official teaching hospital.

Angkor Hospital for Children is preparing the next generation of Cambodian doctors, nurses and hospital administrators by training health care professionals from all over the country. Our Capacity Building and Health Education Program (CBHEP) works to improve available health services and preventative health practices in the more rural communities.
